Memorial Scholarship Program
The Faith C. Webber Memorial Scholarship program was established in 2018 to honor the memory of a former Shelby High School Cheerleader and Department of Social Services employee. A one-time scholarship based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activity involvement, and community engagement will be awarded to a Shelby High School student on an annual basis.
Eligibility
The Faith C. Webber Memorial Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a graduating Senior of Shelby High School having attended a minimum of three of the four years;

Must have at the time of application a cumulative un-weighted grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale);

Must have been a participant in some form of extra-curricular activity (i.e. Beta Club, Student Government, athletics, Choir, band etc.) for a minimum of two years while in High School;

Plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university (Winston-Salem State University, any HBCU (Historically Black College/University or UNC-Charlotte preferred but not required) with plans to pursue preferably, but not required, a degree from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Application Requirements
Applicants must prepare and submit an application packet that includes the following:

A completed Faith C. Webber Memorial Scholarship Application form with the following attached; 1) 1-2page essay explaining your career ambitions and how this scholarship will assist you achieving your goals; 2) A minimum of two letters of recommendation from non-relatives such as Guidance Counselors, Teachers, Coaches, Administrators etc.;

An official copy of your most recent Shelby High School transcript;

Submit all application materials to the designated Shelby High School Guidance Counselor’s Office;

All applications will be reviewed and a final decision made by the Scholarship Committee of Faith Ministries Inc. in May of each year.
Scholarship Award
One scholarship of $1,000.00 will be awarded annually. Awards will be made for one year only and may not be deferred to a subsequent year. Scholarships will be paid to the designated institution on behalf of the recipient.
